The Bible Baptist Church of Madrid, Spain

3

Jack and Joy Loveday arrived as missionaries in Spain in September of 1982 with their oldest daughter, Amanda, age 3. They served with Joy's parents-Lavon and Carolyn Waters - for 3 years while learning the language. During this time, their second daughter, Sandy, was born. At the end of this first term, they returned to the United States for 4 months with plans of launching out on their own upon return. Shortly after they returned to Spain, they planted a Baptist Church in Madrid.

The Loveday's ministry in Spain, Bible Baptist Church in Madrid, is varied in detail, from regular weekly services to prayer meetings and tract distribution. They also hold teen meetings, as well as Ladies' classes on Saturdays.

God has been good and although the work is not very large, it is a good solid work as far as churches go in Europe. They have many immigrants (from Central and South America) and have been able to win many who come to Madrid for work and then move away or back to their countries of origin. They have trained 1 man, Jose Manuel who is Spanish, saved and baptized over 25 years ago. He is married to Diana and they have three children. The church helped Jose Manuel and Diana start a new work in the southern part of Madrid and he has been pastoring this thriving work in Vallecas for the past six years.

Bible Baptist Church has 2 services on Sunday. Sunday School begans at 11:30 and the main service is at 7 p.m. There is a bible study and prayer meeting on Wednesday nights that begins at 7 p.m.

We would love for you to come and join us for a service at the Bible Baptist Church. If you need more information, please don't hesitate to contact us. God Bless!
